Check out ideas from the top of the Empire State Building, the Rockefeller Center, or the One World Observatory. Take them on a museum tour, starting at the Metropolitan Museum of Art on the northeast edge of Central Park. After that, make your way north through several blocks to the Guggenheim Museum and finally to the New York City Museum, one of the best places to learn about the history of the Big Apple.

Go to Chinatown for a treat and Little Italy for cannoli. Go to a jazz club in Harlem, check out the private dot artists’ dotted areas of Chelsea, shop on Fifth Avenue, and visit the Freedom Statement.

You can spend the whole day in Central Park only, looking at its zoo, carousel, lakes and ice rink. Many gardens and pastures are designed for good public viewing and hosting illegal music songs on beautiful days. Going in the summer? Be sure to check out Shakespeare’s schedule in the Park.

Prefer sports, movies, and live music? Check out the New York Yankees at Yankee Stadium, the New York Mets at Citi Field, or the New York Knicks at Madison Square Garden. Track sites from your favorite movies and TV shows. Seinfeld, Sex and the City, “Where Harry Met Sally,” “He Doesn’t Sleep in Seattle,” “Serendipity,” and “Home Alone 2” are just a few of the recordings here.

New York City is a city full of attractions, but one of its most exciting experiences will be that you accidentally stumble along the way. Whatever you want, you can find it in New York. Just don’t try to do it all in one go.

Time Period

Good time to go

New York is a city that always celebrates something, and summer is one of the best times to visit. Outdoor concert season is completely over. Free movies and theaters fill city parks, street vendors, everywhere, and street performances abound. But underground platforms can get steam, the lines can take longer, and temperatures can rise in the middle of a city climb. If this sounds like a tragedy, visit between Thanksgiving and the New Year, when temperatures are cold and the doors of the doorstep are lined with holidays. This time, three large outdoor ice rinks are open, a large Christmas tree lays the Rockefeller Center, and the holiday light shows are much clearer than anything you can imagine.
